BGRR Grand Prix Series
BGRR Grand Prix Guidelines
Bowling Green Road Runners has final authority on all decisions related to the administration of the Grand Prix, including, but not limited to, the eligibility requirements. Any protests must be presented in writing to a BGRR board member no later than February 1st.
2010 Races
- Run for Children Half-Marathon (not the 5K) (3/27) (10 bonus points)
- Butterflies for Maddie 5K (4/17)
- Green River Catfish Festival 5-miler (June 12)
- Trooper Island 5K (7/10)
- Garden Spot Run 5K (8/14)
- Run for Sight 5K (9/6)
- LifeSkills Run for Autism 4-miler (October 16)
- Medical Center 10K (10/23)
- The Great Turkey 5K (11/25)--double points
Format
- At least 4 events must be completed to be eligible for an award.
- Points will be calculated based on the total number of points for ALL races completed.
- Must volunteer for at least 1 race that BGRR is assisting with, usually the finish line.
Volunteers will provide help to the race director in some capacity to be determined by the race director. The volunteered race can be any race BGRR is working and does not have to be a Grand Prix race. - Must be a member in good standing of Bowling Green Road Runners prior to the 4th race in the series.
Awards
Top 3 finishers in the following divisions (male and female):
- Open
- Masters (40+)
- Grandmasters (50+)
- Great Grandmasters (60+)
Age as of the first event will govern for age categories.
Points calculated and awarded in decreasing amounts (by 2) for 1st through 10th places (e.g., 30 for 1st place, 28 for 2nd place, 26 for 3rd place, 24/22/20/18/16/14/12) in each division for each race.
Masters, Grandmasters, and Great Grandmasters can receive points in the Open division, but can only win one award. If a Masters, Grandmasters, and Great Grandmasters runner wins the Open division, the next eligible runner in the Masters, Grandmasters, and Great Grandmasters division will be elevated.
Awards will be $50/$35/$20 cash for 1st/2nd/3rd places in each division provided the eligibility standards have been met (amounts may be increased or decreased depending on sponsorship).
Prizes will be awarded at the BGRR banquet in February, 2011.
